Licensing involves certain formalities that include your education, age, and background. Confirm the requirements with your state licensing authorities. This is necessary as what other states follow will not be the same in yours.

Register and take CNA training from a state-approved institute. Some states allow health care facilities to offer nursing education thrice in a year. Check out the commencing of the class with hospitals and nursing homes around you. Probably, you will have to work at the facility for a month or two to receive the training.

In case there are is no facility offering classes in your area, visit nurse aide registry. They will help you locate training programs and also in securing grants or scholarship if your income is low. The training and licensing would cost around $300 to $1500.

Complete the training and send a verification form to the local nurse aide registry to check the accreditation of the training program. The registry will verify the form and allow you to take the exam for license.
 
After verification, complete other steps necessary for the license. The last thing you need to do for the license is to pass the exam which will be in a written and practical form. The passing scores on the exam are higher than other academic exams. You must secure more than 70 to 80 percent marks in order to obtain the license. If you did, you will receive the license within a month through a registered post.

You can start searching for the job when you are informed about your passing the exam since it will take some time to process and deliver the license.
